Over ten happy years ago, I finally took the plunge and set up my own sports massage practice in North Finchley.
I’d always taken part in sport and had suffered the occasional injuries which can result from that, and it was after seeing a sports massage therapist about my knee – and coming away feeling better – that I decided on a career change.
I trained at Sports Therapy UK (formerly The Academy of Sports Therapy) and the Football Association, and after some work experience at Barnet Football Club and London Kiwis RFC, I left my office job in the City and began my new career as a sports massage therapist.
I’m still playing sport and am a member of Totteridge Millhillians Women’s Cricket Team (and on a more casual basis, Totteridge Tigers 5-a-side football team). I’ve taken part in several triathlons, including Blenheim and London, as well as the odd 5k, 10k and half marathon.
So I know all about the aches and pains you can get sitting at a desk all day as well as the aches and pains you can get from training. And I also know that you don’t have to put up with them!
Whatever your reason for needing a treatment, at AK Sports Massage you’re in good hands.
